John-Lewis gave Town an early lead, and Southport equalised just before half timw with a 20-yard strike by Brown. Southport almost immediately scored again but McKeown denied them with a stunning save.

Hannah hit the post in first half injury time after good work by John-Lewis.

Thanoj came on for Kerr at half time, who had been booked in the first half, then early in the second half McDonald limped off with a hamstring injury.

With Town on top a defensive mistake by Bignot and Pearson let Southport in and Osawe put the home side in front.

In injury time Grimsby hit the woodwork for the third time from a Pearson header.

Town were unlucky to come away with nothing, but another poor result doesn't help their promotion campaign.
